Hey everyone! Sorry I couldn’t recap last week, as I got unexpectedly pulled away for about that whole week so I couldn’t reach a comp in time! Forgive me!

But anyways, I got back just in time for this weeks episode. And hell yes I’m excited! It’s Britney Spears night and I personally think it took this episode to really pump up this season. I’ve been waiting for this night and this is one of the best tribute ABDC episodes, equal to the Michael Jackson tribute from season 1.

The Legendary Britney Spears!

The Legendary Britney Spears!

So tonight, the crews pay tribute to the princess of pop, the one and only Britney Spears! The crews will each be given a #1 single of Britney Spears from her her entire career and make a unique routine to her songs. The first two saved crews of the night and will be  back for the show next week is Beat Freaks and Strikers All Stars. Beat Freaks are up first.

Beat Freaks

Beat Freaks

Last week, Beat Freaks was a little too masculine for me, even though I like their rough style. Beat Freaks got the song “Womanizer”, their challenge was to show Britney’s sexy and tough side and had issues because they weren’t the type of group to have less attire than what their usual rugged, badass b-girl look is, and did not want to cross the line Britney does when it comes to her attire choices. But they didn’t cross the line too much tonight and had a wonderful performance. They started out with 6 of the girls in office suits with the sexy assistant Britney (Rino) in an office-like background. Then the transformation to their sexy side came out and they did that part really well. It was very Britney in terms of “hair, hips, lips”. They did Britney’s choreo to a T so I was happy with that. Love the flips and hair whips with the choreo and not a single b-girl move in sight, so it’s different. Overall one of the best performances of the night. I did agree that I didn’t view them as an all girl crew at the beginning of the performance because they play like guys really well, which IS  a good thing. Tonight showed me another side to them because I’m used to seeing their rough n’ tough side but now I know they can be more versatile. Next up is Strikers All Stars.

Strikers All-Stars

Strikers All-Stars

Aside from the show, Obama’s inaugaration was great and it was nice to see the crews ban together to see the experience. And that must suck for the guy from Strikers to not being able to perform with the marching 100 but he also has something great going on the show so he hasn’t lost alot. This week, their Britney song is Gimme More and their challenge it to create a mirror image of themselves in the routine. Wow, at least they didn’t have to do anything with the pole in the video! Haha moving on, this performance became one of the best of the night as well. They did the mirror challenge really well as if it was an actual mirror and did some nice theatrical stuff like when they slowed down with the lights off and when the guys switched places by jumping through the mirror at the same time. Great stuff haha. I also liked their choreography this week as it wasn’t so much stomp stomp stomp. I had doubts about this crew at first but I’m sure their top contenders now. Nice job for strikers, two great performances in the last two weeks.

Now for the next elimination. Its between Dynamic Edition and Team Millenia. Dynamic Edition moves onto next week and TM is once again in the bottom. Dynamic Edition is up next.

Dynamic Edition

Dynamic Edition

Last week, after being saved from elimination, Cara from DE passed out and had to be helped to the back. She said in the pre-vid that she’s overtaken because after all the years people have made fun of them for clogging, they have the opportunity to change everyone’s mind by being on the show. I totally feel their pain and no one should be able to judge their style of dance because the people who talk sh*t probably can’t even dance so they don’t even know anything. So Dynamic Edition’s Britney song is Stronger. Their challenge is to incorporate the chair scene from the video into their routine. I’m kinda scared for DE because their clogs are not very balance worthy on chairs so this might screw them up. But anyways, I’ve been a major fan of DE since the first episode, but last week was ok, this week just wasn’t their week. I didn’t feel the Britney vibe from their routine. I liked the chair stunts they did and Brandon almost fell of his chair (whew!) However their clogging is getting repetitive and I’m seeing the same hand movements week after week. They seemed too cheery and didn’t give the sassy, sensual, signature Britney from the Stronger song. I think they could have done more with the chair. I didn’t like how JC called the guy a bit too feminine for the leap off the chair (considering the work he’s done on nsync). I agree with Shane about not feeling it, and the white chicks comment haha SO TRUE. So this wasn’t the best performance tonight and we’ll most likely see them in the bottom next week.

We now have Quest, Fly Khicks, and Ringmasters. Quest and Fly Khicks are saved and Ringmasters are in the bottom 2. Up next is quest.

Last week, I did kinda agree with JC about the choregraphy (although he didn’t have to sound that bitchy) but last week Quest still put on a great performance. Their Britney song this week is “Toxic”. This should be interesting. Their challenge is where all the members must have a blindfolded section in the routine. One of the guys said that the moves will be a bit more feminine this time than their usual masculine stuff (It’s Britney duh). Anyways they started off the performance with some nice bboy stuff. and they did the flips with the blindfold on. Nice work there. I loved how during the britney shout, Hok and D-Trix were looking around and D-trix grabbed Hok’s chest and they took off their blind folds to reveal a vogue-like makeup haha. Nice humor there. They had some awesome choreo, it was very Britney. Feng showed off humor and feminine side with the booty shake. Haha WORK IT BOYS!! Then Ryan came out from the middle and did this crazy stuff with his leg and ended with a flip into a Shablam (work it snap snap!) Overall this was a pick up performance from last week, and they played britney well. Another one of the best performances of the night. I was entertained. Up next is Fly Khicks.

Fly Khicks

Fly Khicks

Last week, Fly Khicks was so-so to me. I was disappointed because their sudden death round gave me alot to look foward to and last week didn’t bring it to me. I do however give them props for trying to give us something other than bootyshake last week and their energy was high last week. Love harajuku. Fly Khicks britney song is “Baby One More Time” which is right up their alley. Their challenge is to incorporate sharp turns into their routine. Gina was under pressure this week because of her mess up last week (which I didn’t even notice) so she’s afraid she won’t land her turns. So they started off with a nice silouette curtain and strutted down the stage. They had a little Pussycatdoll/Beyonce thing going on. They did their turns great into the drop like the video. Although the formation change was a bit messy in the beginning, they did the routine well. Loved the choreo and the pirouette ripple. I liked the ending. Overall this was also a pick up performance from last week for Fly Khicks. They brought Britney as well as other female artists vibe. It may have not been the most best of the night but it’s alot better from last week. Good job Fly Khicks.

Now for the bottom 2 crews, Team Millenia and Ringmasters to fight for their lives.

Team Millenia

Team Millenia

Team Millenia has been an off crew to me from the beginning. The first episode did not impress me and last weeks performance was only ok. TM’s Britney song is “Me against the music feat. Madonna”. Their challenge this week is to incorporate hats and canes from the video. Now i’ve been reading about how their challenge wasn’t that hard but I disagree. Those props are hard to use when you want to impress correctly. I liked how they started off the performance. They did the song really well and recreated the video with the Madonna and Britney section face-off. Their cane section was good. However, it seemed that Wobz who played Madonna stood out more than the girl who played Britney and you need to have Britney stand out especially if character is significantly in the performance. But other than that it was great choreo, probably the best choreo  of the night. This was the biggest pick up performance of all the crews because this is the TM I was looking for. Good peformance from TM. Up next is ringmasters.

Last week, Ringmasters failed to impress me because I did not see alot of choreo in that routine and I saw more tricks and flexing than choreo. Ringmasters Britney song is “Circus” (not a big suprise here) and their challenge was to somehow make stilt dancers in the routine. At first I assumed that they were going to climb on each other to make the stilts but I guess not. They started it off with making the illusion of a giant stilt performer w/o climbing on each other which I enjoyed. Then they did that heart pumping trick which was fun to see. Of course we were gonna see their bone crunching. Ok so far no choreo. OOPS I guess I was wrong as they got into a nice tutting section and finished it off with a freakshow like ending. Overall a better performance from Ringmasters this week compared to last week and good choreo from them this week.

Both Team Millenia and Ringmasters put on great performances this week and probably should not have been in the bottom if I had it my way. If I had it my way I would have Dynamic Edition eliminated tonight (sorry to say). But one of these teams has to go and its Team Millenia. I do understand why TM has ended up where they have due to really bad image choices in the beginning episode. However this week was a major turnaround for them but I guess it was too late. Despite that I was not impressed in the beginning, this week Team Millenia showed me they are a good group and have earned my respect. I’m proud of them for not complaining one bit that their second run was cut short and their comeback dream came to a halt. They were just glad to dance for the time they were on the show. I wish you nothing but the best Tm in all your future endeavors.

Good luck in all your future endeavors TM!

Good luck in all your future endeavors TM!

Tonight was one of the biggest nights in ABDC history. The tribute to Britney really brought out some crews, while other crews fell short. Beat Freaks, Strikers, and Quest are really showing themselves as the top contenders they are, while Dynamic Edition, Fly Khicks are falling far behind, with Ringmasters improving shortly at a time. I made a statement in my last blog that if the main contenders don’t watch their backs, the underdogs can pull a fast one. So far my underdogs are fighting a losing battle. Boxcuttahz are already gone, and it seems that the rest of my underdogs, Fly Khicks and Dynamic will most likely end up in the bottom next week and one will end up eliminating the other. Strikers was once considered an underdog to me but have proven to me that they are legit top contenders in the last two weeks. I only wish that Fly Khicks and DE would do the same. So I’m still having hope that Fly Khicks and DE will prove me right and I won’t have to regret making my statement. Only next week will tell whats going to happen. So tonight I truly enjoyed the show (thank God for Britney Spears) and I enjoyed the performances tonight. Next week the crews will be peforming to the WHACKEST OF THE WACK SONGS! I started laughing as soon as I heard this. Maybe this will be the calling I’ve been looking for. Next week the main contenders could drop the ball and the underdogs can finally step up but I could also be wrong.

Possible song choices for next week that I could think of:

Macarana song, Saved by the bell theme song, I’m too sexy for my shirt, Who let the dogs out, Chunky Pam song.

This is Roebby blogging for ABDC and I’m out.

Ok to set the record straight, THANK GOD IT’S NOT A DANCE CREW CURSE THAT A REALLY PROMISING CREW GOES HOME FIRST! There is some justice in the world!!!

Ok, back to business… HEY EVERYONE! MY NAME IS ROEBBY AND I’M BACK TO BLOGGING FOR AMERICA’S BEST DANCE CREW SEASON 3! And I have to say that tonight’s premiere was interesting, both good and bad. You’ll find out why as you read ahead.Lil Mama, Shane Sparks, and Kid Rainen

So first off, there was no live audition special, which later had a bothering effect on me. AGAIN, YOU’LL FIND OUT WHY. Another thing, we’re back to 9 crews once again, which is ok with me I guess. And wow we have Kid Rainen as guest judge, which makes alot of sense. Seriously. And lastly, they brought back the elimination rounds and do-or-die rounds. Where was this last season when it was really needed? Ah well. Moving on.

The first crew of the first elimination round is STRIKERS ALL STARS!

Strikers All Stars

Strikers All Stars

Hm. Ok good news for me, not another Status Quo. At first, I was a bit skeptical about this group but after their performance, they changed my mind a little bit. Their performance was a reminiscence of the movie Stomp the yard. I liked that they were clean and that they added interesting steps to their choreo. However, as much as I enjoyed the step, if they want to keep their spot on the show, they will have to switch it up a bit. The steppin’ is hot, but if I see it week after week after week, viewers will catch on of course and boot them off. And I do agree with Shane’s comment about cutting the music to actually hear the UMPH! of the step. If they bring that next week, they’re alright in my book.

The second crew of the first elimination round is Beat Freakz!

Beat Freakz

Beat Freakz

I am definitly glad to see an all-girl BREAKING crew to make their way onto the show. Aside from breaking, they have popping, locking, tricks, etc. I liked how they started their peformance with SWAGG. They brought it! They covered almost every aspect I was looking for! Tricks, CHOREOGRAPHY, precision, smooth, and more! It’s great to see these girls do what they know how and do it good! Femme 5 2 seasons ago tried to do stunts but it didn’t work for them cuz they don’t know how to do it right (however I think Femme 5 was still good, only if they stayed in what they were representing). I really do think that these girls can make it to the end. One thing that does scare me though is that if they let their tricks dominate the performance more than everything else, viewers who saw the same thing with Super Cr3w will react quickly and won’t let them get away with it.  If they bring all aspects like they did tonight for the rest of the season and make it fresh, they will win this season.

The final crew of the first elimination round is GOP dance crew!

Hmm. Not to be mean or anything, they remind me of a latino Phresh Select. They have the breaking and something little here and there. And they come from a really bad place. It’s like producers are trying to make justice with this group for not letting Shhh! from last season make the cut. Their peformance was ok, the breaking wasn’t on par. Although I did enjoy the latin flavor they brought with the cha-cha, they weren’t bringing it hard enough as they should have and I ended up getting bored.  They really really need to step it up.

AND THE CREW WHO’S SENT IN THE DO-OR-DIE ROUND IS GOP! Let’s see if these smooth guys can save themselves from being cha-cha all the way home.

The first crew of the second elimination round is QUEST CREW!

Quest Crew

Quest Crew

I really like this crew. They have such a fun and awesome presence on stage, and yet can keep that competetive game on. They do breaking but they also have fun with great choreo and theatrics which were awesome. They know how to entertain the crowd and that really matters. If you leave the crowd clappin loud, you did good. These guys are incredibly athletic, humorous, and they are not an Xtreme Dance Force with the whole pretty boy look. This crew can really bring it and I enjoyed them. I’m excited to see what they bring the next couple of weeks, hoping they make it that far. TOP 2 CONTENDERS RIGHT HERE.

The second crew of the second elimination round is FLY KHICKS!

Fly Khicks

Fly Khicks

Ok, their video description made me skeptical but not too much. The last time we heard DANCE TEAM + BASKETBALL = SassX7 (who weren’t bad dancers but hyped themselves a bit too much). And then I heard Miami Heat, and I’ve seen their dances which are pretty good. So lets hope for the best. Ok, dancing to Kelis’s “Milkshake”..idk if that is a smart song choice to dance to but I guess they did ok with it. Before “milkshake” came on, I enjoyed majority of the performance. I definitly saw the technique in their step and that can bring alot to a performance if used right. We saw a LITTLE BIT of Live In Color, but that ended in 5 seconds. This crew has POTENTIAL. They may not look like the best, but they COULD be.  This is one of those crews who develop over time and really get better, like Fanny Pak. I want to see more technique with the hip hop. Lose the booty shake, keep your groove. I did find that etchy but funny how Shane said “please be a girl group who will stay on for more than two episodes” (considering last two seasons, the all-girl crews have been elminated on the second episode). Overall, they can dance really well, they just need to tap into what works for them. They experimented a bit tonight and technique definitly works for them. I’m interested to see what Fly Khicks will bring. Fly Khicks = Femme 5+SassX7+Shhh!+a little Distorted X.

The final crew for the second elimination round is RINGMASTERS!

Prior to ABDC season 3 premiere, I’ve been reading comments about Ringmasters (formally known as Main Event) and they haven’t been that good. I’ve heard alot of hate and that majority of viewers didn’t like them. However, from other blog sources, I’ve read that they are a suprise group that we should all look out for. Anyways, they have a unique dance style, which is called “Flexing” which is contortioning. Again, skeptical but have been proven otherwise thus far. The performance brought something new and fresh and I enjoyed it. The “flexing” was incredibly ill, WHEN THEY WINDED UP THE GUYS ARMS..eww! I mean I can bend but not that far. Whew. This crew is crazy. Overall beginning towards the end was pretty good. The ending however, killed it for me. And not in the good way. I found it to be way too much like Status Quo. I’ve seen enough flips to make my dog want to do one. If they can show us how flexing works in different ways each week without being repretitive, that alone is enough to get me. Leave the flips out. I’ve had my fair share of flips. They have something unique here, let’s not kill it for them. Lil Mama got emotional tonight. Which is understandable I guess. This crew is representing the the East Coast. And I would be proud if a group of people represented where I came from that well. When she said they gave one of the best performances tonight, I gave them a 8 1/2, which is still pretty good.

AND THE SECOND CREW TO BE SENT IN THE DO OR DIE ROUND IS.. FLY KHICKS! I’m really rooting for the ladies this season so I’m hoping these Heat hotties bring that technique I’ve been asking for to stay on the show.

Now for the final 3 crews of the night. But before I move onto them, let’s take a small recap of the last 6 so far. So far, great here, a little poor there, and decent. Let’s see what the final 3 crews of the night round off the season.

The first crew for the final elimination round is BOX CUTTAHZ!

Box Cuttahz

Box Cuttahz

Now this is an interesting crew. They mainly focus on the choreography being done and they do it really well. They play their A-game to musicality which does the song  justice. I really enjoyed the performance and I liked how their geeky look is somewhat futuristic-esque.  However, I did kind of agree that Lydia needs to step it up with the guys but JUST ENOUGH TO MAKE PARTS OF THE PERFORMANCE STRONGER. I didn’t have much of a problem with her gentler sides of the peformance, I just needed her to go hard WHEN SHE NEEDS TO GO HARD. I do love their choreography, it’s something weird yet exciting about it. It’s like Fanny Pak meets Revenge of the nerds. Overall, very theatrical AND IT DIDN’T BORE ME. Watching them is like watching a silent musical but just with music. You appreciate it with attention. I want to see more out of this crew. They just need to bring the energy a little bit but still keep their sleek vibe they have.

P.S. Lydia looks like a cross between Yuri Tag from Kaba Modern and Margaret Cho. Weird but true.

The second crew of the final elimination is DYNAMIC EDITION!

Dynamic Edition

Dynamic Edition

Ok this whole night so far has been skeptical to me BUT THUS FAR has proved me wrong. Dynamic Edition is one of them! At first, I was like “Clogging may not fair well on ABDC.” I totaly take that back now. This crew has alot going for them. They obviously dance really really really clean. And they have wonderful formations. They have nice partnering sections. And the clogging mixed with hip-hop is essentially needed this season. Overall I really did enjoy this performance and to see something this new brings flavor. I love clogging now haha! However I did agree with Kid Rainen on how they didn’t fully tap into the hip-hop as they should have. But he also said it will take some time to fully grasp and use it in daily dance along with clogging. I am happy however that they took the time to show what their style is really about. Another crew of potential if done right. I would like to see more hip-hop flavor next week.

The 3rd crew of the final elimination round is TEAM MILLENIA!

Team Millenia

Team Millenia

So I’m glad to see Team Millenia back on the show. I did understand however why they got booted off (FOR YOU TEAM MILLENIA FANS THAT ARE READY TO BERATE ME ONCE YOU READ THIS, READ FIRST THEN B*TCH LATER) Last season, their dancing was good, however I think that being the last team to perform and being that we saw everything they did been done by the other crews kind of killed it for them and made them look *harshword* generic. But as season 3 is back, their performance wasn’t like their one last time. They had a character and they stuck with it well. They excited me alot more this time around. I can see why they won Vibe and other dance competitions. They dance pretty good and are top contenders. However, Idk why but after it was over, it kinda died for me. The last couple of crews got me talkin AFTER the performance was over. TM did it for me but it didn’t last long. Idk maybe I’m still trying to shake off last season’s effects of being labeled a generic crew. Maybe next couple of weeks my mind will change. But overall this is a good crew to watch out for, I’m just hoping that they can keep me excited enough to keep wanting to watch them each week. Let’s hope for the best.

AND THE FINAL CREW TO BE SENT INTO THE DO-OR-DIE ROUND IS..BOX CUTTAHZ. I really like this crew and they interest me to really keep them on the show and see what they potentially have. Can they cut their way to the top or have a dull edge and get cut themselves out of the ABDC picture?

Now that GOP, Fly Khicks, and Box Cuttahz are now under fire, the do-or-die elimination round begins.

Sad to say, GOP didn’t excite me again. They definitly tried this time but still didn’t do it for me.

Fly Khicks are up next and they definitly brought it this time. They gave me that technique I’ve been asking for as well as nice tricks, creativity, and good dancing. Like I said, if this crew is given enough time on the show, they can become legit contenders and even possibly win.

Box Cuttahz are up last and have to bring their A-Game. They definitly brought it and Lydia really stepped up her game from earlier tonight. She did a nice back slowmo cartwheel type thing which was awesome. They incorporated their theatrics really well and I enjoyed it.

The elimination begins. The first crew saved is… FLY KHICKS!.

Now it’s down to GOP and Box Cuttahz.

The first crew eliminated is…….. GOP! Box Cuttahz stays another week.

These guys are good dancers and they have a touching story. I wish them nothing but the best in their future endeavors.

Whew what a night. Tonight I realized that the underdogs can pull a fast one under the main contenders if the main contenders don’t watch their backs. Fly Khicks, Dynamic Edition, and Box Cuttahz have something good going if they keep heading in the right direction. One good thing did come out of tonight and that was a really really great crew wasn’t eliminated first. Last season, Distorted X went home first after a promising performance and there was alot more from them we could have seen if they had stayed. This almost became the case tonight with the final two crews GOP and Boxcuttahz. I was seriously biting my nails for box cuttahz to stay. And I’m glad that they did. I said earlier that it did kind of bother me that we didn’t have a live audition because the live audition would have helped us kind of get a nice feel on the crews and not shove them in our face right away. It took me a while to get used to it but it turned out great after a while. I’m hoping that producers don’t get rid of the good crews early because viewers want to see what they’ve got. We’ve got a great batch of crews this season, so lets not waste their potential.

Ok I had to get this out. I like Team Millenia but they have to live up to their hype. Their performance tonight was good but did not live up to the expectations like they usually do. Maybe its just tonight and next week they could blow me away. I just don’t want them to become like Supreme Soul who was really really good, but only on again, off again. Let’s see what the next couple of weeks bring.

Overall, another great season to watch. It took me a while to get the feel of the dance after watching it over again but its ok now. I like the crews they chose, despite all the complaints about crews who should have made it. They made the right choice there. Next week is most likely the music video challenge. Let’s see what the crews can do with their talents next week.

Best Peformance of the night:

Quest and Beat Freakz

Worst Peformance tonight:

Till then, blogging for ABDC,

Life is controlled by boundries, whether it be a physical, mental, or emotional boundry. We have all at some point in our life, stood against the line of that boundry. But it’s the dedication, motivation, passion, and perserverance that helps us cross over and live freely as it pleases us.

A boundry is merely your threshold, your comfort zone, your beliefs. Sometimes that must be broken. It must be broken because we have still not experienced what more life has to offer. We can’t continue living comfortably and not take a risk for something more than what you may have ever wanted ever in your entire life.

So do not forget the dreams you’ve dreamt because they may seem impossible. Do not be satisfied with the lesser things life has offered you so always want more out of it. Do not set limitations on the exciting moments of your life because the only way to have fun is to go the distance and go past it. And most importantly, do not cage your heart because of what love has forbidden you from doing. Love freely and fully & do not be afraid to reach for your hearts desires. And when you do have your hearts desire, the desire does not end there. Desire to hold it close to you and nurture it all you can and give it everything that you can give, fuel the fire and never put it out.

“When you can cross the boundries of your heart, take the leap of faith, and know LOVE; all your life’s struggles will simply be a distant, vague memory and you will have enough to take on the world.”

As I said from last week, I was going to give this week’s episode some insight because as much as I hate how last weeks results turned out, I’m curious to know what happens this week. And I wasn’t disappointed but I didn’t have my breath taken away (maybe just a little). But one thing is for sure, tonight changed things up for the voting and we may OR may not get a suprise twist for the winner next week. ALL UP TO AMERICA!

So tonight, our final two crews will dance 3 times tonight; the all around the world challenge, create-your-own dance craze, and the last chance challenge. Tonight was ok for both these crews and I was definitly sure when I thought Fanny Pak was going to own them all in tonights challenge. If only a wicked twist was at the end of tonight’s show and Fanny Pak makes a surprise return. But only in a perfect world, right? Anyways we start off the night with the All Around The World challenge, taking every dance style from literally ALL OVER THE WORLD and turning it into a routine.

First off is Super Crew. I agree with Lil Mama that the formations were a bit off and I had a hard time comprehending the routine in the beginning. I do agree with Shane that as they switched to other dance styles, it did get better. But I noticed some sloppyness here and there but the tricks pulled away from it. I think when it got to the Latin dance, they could have put more “umph” into it because if Fanny Pak has 3 dudes that can booty shake like the dirty South, they can too. Overall, I would put this at the bottom of the list of their performances. But hey its the first of the night, I’ll give them a break.

Now onto SoReal Cru. Now I said last week that I wanted SoReal to prove to me that they deserved to be in that top spot because I would take them out right on the spot and bring Fanny Pak back. And their first performance tonight did not definitly help. Here was the problem: there were so many mess-ups in this performance, if they were so much cleaner, the performance alone (no tricks) would be enough to impress me. I honestly thought this was a good routine but it was REALLY SLOPPY. Jackie was so off at some parts. I did love the row boat trick and the ending with Ailyn in the air. So I give this one to Super Cr3w for the first performance.

Wow I miss Fanny Pak already so badly.

Now onto the dance craze challenge. I kind of already knew that SoReal had this one in the bag considering that SoReal does more floorwork dancing that tricks and they could easily make something up where as Super Cr3w doesn’t have floorwork that stands out mainly because its the tricks we look for in them.

So first off is Super Cr3w. Ok, you might as well just stamp one big DUH! on your tvs when Super Cr3w had to make a move for the craze. Of course, the notorious “S” makes its dance debut in form of a song. “S to the chest, S in the sky!” Or something like that. Anyways, their dance craze was ok but in order for a dance craze to click with people, you have to be able to relate to them and make it possible for them to perform the craze. The “S” part of the song would only come back for a good 5-6 seconds THEN ITS BACK TO TRICKS. I guess the “S” part of the song only works well when you back it up with some crazy trick. Not everyone b-boys people so I think they lost out on this challenge.

Now SoReal Cru steps up to the plate AND THE EXPLOSION MAKES A GRAND RETURN TO THE ABDC STAGE! I actually liked this performance because it turns out to be a great dance craze. And the great thing is, ANYBODY CAN DO IT and still do their dancin thang on the side! I loved the parts when it would go SMASH IT UP! And I loved when the hulk hands come into play. Finally something about that crazy-ass EXPLOSION has some depth. I liked the closing parts of this performance. At least now I think SoReal’s final 2 position on the show wasn’t an entire “WTF!?” moment. It’s too bad only now they start to REALLY grow on me. Then I would have been more understandable about it now. But oh well, this challenge goes to SoReal Cru.

Hmm I wonder what Fanny Pak’s dance craze would have been. Something loony toons Fanny zipper Pak but we would have loved it any way.

Now onto the last chance challenge. I admit the way these final performance were well done and well put together and I enjoyed them.

Super crews final performance was obviously going to be TRICKS CITY CENTRAL but considering its their last chance to sway votes for them, I wanna see what they got..ONE LAST TIME. I really liked their divided sections with 2 members in the 3 sections. It reminded of Live In Color’s dance craze challenge when they had that divided section of the routine. Anyways, good routine and this gained my vote. I liked the end..it had a very look beyond the stars and reach moment. They gave it their all and this proves a strong point for next week. If you want the WOW-factor, Super Cr3w got it tonight. I don’t hate this crew and I respect what they have done on this show. I like them so I want to finish this season on a good note.

SoReal wanted to get down and dirty one last time. And I’ll be honest, it was really good. Alot of things in this performance made me happy. There was no recycled moves and it wasn’t boring. I liked how they got right down to it and pumped out pretty much every non-recycled move they had and gave it up tonight. THEY WENT HARD. I could tell that this was something they wanted and not all of it was necessarily HANDED TO THEM VOTING-STYLE. They have shown me that they COULD be America’s Best Dance Crew. Just wished things would have been different many weeks before. I know I was really rough on this crew last week but it was just out of rage. I think they are great dancers and it’s no wonder why they are final 2. I just have to learn how to accept the way the show has turned out now. Respect to this crew and do not want to leave on a bad note. If you wanted choreography, SoReal Cru got that tonight. (If only the finale was final 3 instead of final 2, I wouldn’t have bitched about it so much)

So now that the season has almost reached its full circle, I admit that this season was no better than last season because we can all compare and contrast these last 2 seasons; from what was better or what was worse from both. This season’s final two may be arguable but its comprehendable. Again, I just accept it as it is. But I have enjoyed this season of ABDC and I hope next season will be better (in the voting aspect at least). I’m happy that this blog had alot of reconsidering done and it was somewhat positive for its outcome 🙂  . Good luck to both crews and their future endeavors. See you guys for the finale! I’m dying to see the other crews come back!!!!

*My final pick for next week:

-To be honest, I’m unsure because this week actually switched things up a bit for the voting. It can go both ways because Super Cr3w impressed more people and gained more votes but SoReal has stepped it up this week and could change that. I was originally for Super Cr3w but SoReal has done tonight some good in my mind. I’ve grown to like both crews so whoever wins will be ok with me. Still wanted Fanny Pak to win, but this still  would be ok with me.

Wow I am very very shocked and angry with last nights results. I am saying it right here, right now, despite people may hate me for I probably would not be happy with whoever wins at this point. 2 reasons:

1. SoReal Cru may have never been in the bottom but they have only been able to impress me twice (Missy Elliot challenge and this week’s second performance) but with past lackluster performances (or boring I’m not afraid to say) I would have respected them more if they went home last night, instead of taking the place of a crew that really deserved the final spot. Them being in the top would be more understandable if they had impressed me earlier on in the show but it’s a little too late for that now. If they win, I am 75% sure I’m not watching next season because I don’t want to have to go through the pain of watching a deserving crew get screwed over.

2. Super crew I must admit have been very good this season. Yes, they have had choreography problems (and shocked that they hired a choreographer because at least the other 2 crews made up their dance routines from scratch) but nevertheless, they have impressed me and gained my vote. I am really hoping they win because if they took Fanny Pak’s place (who by the way owned Super Crew last night) they should at least do them justice but I will also be mad that they win because if another breaking crew wins this season, MTV, FUCK THE REST OF THE DANCE AND MAKE IT A BREAKING SHOW OK!? IF YOU PLAN TO MAKE A BREAKING CREW WIN EVERY SEASON AND SCREW OVER OTHER DESERVING CREWS (FANNY PAK), I REALLY HOPE ANOTHER DANCE SHOW WHO HAS THE BALLS TO EMBRACE VARIETY GETS MORE POPULAR THAN ABDC!

Now onto my thoughts on tonights show:

SoReal Cru:
Was not impressed with their first performance for the not. It looked sloppy at some parts, looked decent in the middle, the ending probably would have been nice previous weeks before but not this late in the competition. I do not know how after a performance like that, they end up on top. I do feel bad for them though because now they have to deal with being the scapegoat of negative feedback because from their initial reaction when they were told they were top 2, they were shocked, which probably means its not their fault that they have to go through all of the negativity. Their second performance however, did impress me. It reminded me alot of their audition piece with the hands (this time with mirrors) which was very nice to see. I actually liked all the hand moves they did because for one, THEY DIDN’T REPEAT MOVES LIKE THEY HAVE THROUGHOUT THIS SEASON! The broom move was nice to see and they did justice for the movie Breakin’. Like I said, I would understand more them being top 2 if I saw performances like this earlier on.

Super Cr3w:
Their first performance was pretty good. They did the challenge well for having only 4 feet on the ground. I enjoyed this more than their second performance of the night. The second performance of the night didn’t do alot for me. I saw a small percentage of Footloose and that was the heel shuffle and the knee slide but other than that it was another breaking routine. Hate me or whatever but this was not a routine that did the challenge well, I saw a move that was used AGAIN, and it wasn’t as creative. No way with a performance like that, they beat out Fanny Pak. I do not buy it.

Now onto the crew of the night and my forever favorite crew, FANNY PAK:

Their first performance was good. I really liked it. The athletisism from Beau and Phil was nice when they did the facefreeze/ scissor kick (sorry I don’t know the terms for those) and the secret weapon is Glenda!! She is the athletics for this group I swear. You do not see many girls do what she does, especially that scissor kick because most guys do that. I think they did their challenge well, dancing Ice, ice, baby horizontally. The “word to your mother” was funny and cute. Loved Cara’s face. Now onto their second performance, in which if this was the finals they would have won hands down. I thought Fanny Pak + Flashdance = Great Performance. This was their week to really show what the crew was about. Are they 80’s or is it just for show? THEY ARE TRULY 80′S PEOPLE. They did Flashdance justice. I loved the idea of making the audition scene from Flashdance more modern with the mock Lil Mama, Shane Sparks, and JC Chasez. Go Cara for taking on the role of the countess of Flashdance, Jennifer Beals (the original Flashdancer herself). Cara did her justice as well. I loved the humor when Cara went on top of the table and did her thing. I am suprised Shane didn’t reply badly about how they portrayed him as a sexhoundog haha. Great form for the pierouets and nice jump to the knee slap to the hair flip slide. And there goes Glenda again doing her thing on the table. She’s good. I laughed so hard at the end with Phil’s freaky resemblence smile to JC. Overall, show-winning performance. They worked so hard to impress America and for whoever wasn’t impressed you must be so dumb not to be. They impressed me from the very beginning of the competition and I am very glad that their time on the show was something I was able to see and I am blessed so have seen them. And out of all the crews who went home (from both seasons) it was Fanny Pak’s leave who actually made me cry. Yes as stupid as I sound they were the first crew to make me cry. Thats how much their dance has influence on people. It rattles your emotion with simply, pure dance. I was hoping they would win the competition to maybe give Glenda the home she deserves for her dedication to this show. I know this isn’t the last of Fanny Pak, thats for sure.

Since there is one more episode for the final 2 crews to give everything they have to get the final votes, THEY BETTER GIVE EVERYTHING BECAUSE THIS WILL DECIDE IF I STILL HAVE ENOUGH HEART TO WATCH ANOTHER SEASON OF THIS SHOW. I hope they really bring it enough to prove my blog wrong. I am hoping for that. My final words for now because I am not in the giddy mood to praise these crews. I’ll save it for next week if they prove me wrong.

The Missy Elliott challenge gave all the crews something to stand out on.

One Minute Man

One Minute Man

First, I’ll start with SoReal Cru. Wow, I must admit this is one of their more creative performances and I was impressed. They lived up to their slow-jam choreography and it worked well with the song. I love the way they recreated the girl-on-wall part with Ailyn and Jackie. Also the part with the girls going slow and pushing the guys away. That was very nice. The intro was very interesting and it made me see that it wasn’t KABA-LIKE at all, it was SOREAL-LIKE. I must disagree with JC because the moves may not look hard from another point of view but incorporating the moves is a different story. I do find the moves they did very hard. I hope this doesn’t hurt them in votes next week, because the final 3 crews had nothing really wrong this week. As I said from last week, I needed SoReal Cru to make them stand out to me. This was the week they stood out to me.

Now on to Super Cr3w. I liked their performance this week. Another crew who also worked their butts off to be in the top, despite what people say that their a cheap knock-off of Jabba. LET ME SAY THIS, THIS IS SECOND SEASON PEOPLE! NONE OF THESE CREWS ARE TRYING TO COMPETE WITH THE STAR POWER OF JABBA! THEY’RE TRYING TO MAKE THEIR OWN NAME TO BE THE “NEXT” DANCE CREW. Back to Super Cr3w, I liked the intro in the beginning. I also noticed that the final 3 crews had amazing intros this week. But back to that, their intro was like week 1 except BIGGER. I liked that. And the ending was very fun to see. That’s group work. This is gonna be tough next week for sending who will be in the bottom 2.

Now onto the bottom 2 crews. Considering last week’s performances, I agree why America sent them into the bottom 2.

Kinda Worked It

Kinda Worked It

First off Boogie Bots. Overall, a nice performance. I like the handstand freeze and the wiggle walk. I do agree with all the judges on this one. They had bad timing on some of the moves and aside from the wiggle walk, there was not much I saw that was “Missy Material”. And Lil Mama was right, Boogie Bots have exciting MOMENTS but that doesn’t come throughout the entire performance. I had read that Boogie Bots had changed their performance last minute, creating an entire new routine because they felt it wasn’t Boogie Bots. I respect them for trying to stay true to their name but this late in the game, stick to the challenge given and perform it. You can still find a way to respresent yourself well and still own the challenge.

Fanny Freak On

Fanny Freak On

Now onto Fanny Pak. I have high bets on this group, thats for sure. They had the best performance tonight hands down. I like the history this group has. It’s very difficult to change America’s view on this dance show because most fans sway towards the hiphop style. But Fanny Pak has finally gotten through to America and showed them what beautiful variety is out there. Overall, an amazing performance. The intro (intros are really on the Tee tonight!) was in your face and I loved it. I love the red tape part, floating Tifanni and they did surprise us with what came out of the Fanny Pack! This performance was a major step up from last week’s messy breakdown. The callout to Super Cr3w means business to Fanny Pak. Their here to take it. The way they used Cara as a gong was fun to see. This group got the standing ovation, the first of both seasons of ABDC and they deserved it. AND YES FANNY PAK HOMOPHOBS GET YOUR HEADS OUT OF YOUR ASSES, STRAIGHT OR NOT THIS GROUP IS ONE OF THE BEST.

After seeing Boogie Bots and Fanny Paks performances, the obvious choice to stay is Fanny Pak. But I do respect Boogie Bots because their entire run in the competition has been rocky, but has been good as well. I have enjoyed their performances and will be hoping to see them in the finale.

The final 3 may have repeating history from last season with one exception. Fanny Pak is not a Status Quo! They have proven they can dance but still bring flavor with their creative style. No need for a recount here people. The final 3 deserve to be the final 3. Rocky road for all 3 crews but it has paid off. As for next week, guessing from the standing ovation for Fanny Pak they will be final 2. As for Super Cr3w and SoReal, its going to break my heart for who has to go home. This is one of those times you wish you had a crew you thought was so bad in the final 3 it would be that easy to send them home and watch the other crew move to the final 2. But this is not the case. All these crews can f*ckin dance (sorry for language) and is different in their own right. This season may not be as hyped as last season, but the closing episodes are much more better than last seasons because we know this is gonna be the battle of the TOUGHEST CREWS. At least this time, the final 3 are FORREAL. No arguement here. I apologize for the rant but I’m a little fired up.

Everyone knows how time flies by so fast in highschool. But we all think from starting at the bottom, you’ll assume it will take almost forever until you reach the top. So you continue to live your days routinely, enjoying most days knowing the following year won’t be much different. But when reality takes a huge fart in your face and it ends up sh*tting SENIOR YEAR.

The time has finally come. For some, its relief; while for others it is fear. The relief is the normal reaction to the last year in highschool. It’s a reminder that all your hard work has finally paid off and your going to be the full-fledge, kicking/screaming adult you always wanted to be. It’s that new chapter of life your just dying to turn the page for.

But for others, some may not always get that kind of relief. For some, it is reminder of abrupt change. Yes, change is good. Change is what keeps the evolutionary cycle going. But sometimes change doesn’t turn out the way you plan. Change in the last year simply states your current situation: “PANIC”. You panic because the way you knew and lived your life the same way you have for the past 3 is going to change. You panic because your not ready to change your old ways and go foward with your future.

Not all of us look foward to moving on from highschool because for some, there’s something waiting that we don’t want to take responsibility for. I am scared to begin the last year of highschool because I know its my last and I already see whats ahead, the gloomy picture is why I’d prefer to keep the years in highschool going instead of possibly not going to college altogether, a choice I can’t have a say in.

I know everyone has a dream and to be able to make a dream a reality, you have to go to college. I have a dream to be able to publish great editorials and make an impact in the world of literature. I look foward to going to college to make that happen but one thing stops me; a responsibility I am not willing to accept but eventually may have to accept either way.

I will not clarify what that responsibility may be but it is far from I want to do with my life. I respect it very much but I am sure that it is not what I’m meant to do in life. Simply, it will prevent me from going to college because all the time that this responsibility takes up, there  won’t be enough time to fit in an education. My choice of becoming a writer has gone from a priority to an option, without my consent. I am forced to choose something that isn’t true to myself because its what I’m supposed to do to please the “people” (I use that term loosely) around me.

When you begin to oppose and fight to stay true to yourself and your beliefs, you quickly become a target for guilt and disappointment. And when the lack of approval from your peers is bad enough, you also begin to list what you may lose in the process once you make your decision. It simply comes down to this: Are you going to pursue your dream but lose the respect of your peers? Or will you cater to your peers and go with what they want you to do; gaining their support but losing your identity?

My year has come and I have yet to decide on what will I do. Personal identity has always been important to me but so has the respect from the people closest to me. I hope to find an answer to this soon before my year endsor I will find myself in a more dire situation than I already am. I want lower classmen to read this because it is very important:

“Know what you want you to do with your life. Know who you want to be in the future. Decide only when your only absolutely sure, no doubts and no regrets. Know what your going to have to sacrifice to make it happen, living with what you may lose in the process. Have the heart and passion to fight for what you want to be. If you fall, get back up and try again if you want it badly enough. Don’t give up, despite the problems and stipulations you may endure because it shows great character in ones self. Most importantly, stay true and do what makes you happy. A TRUE CHOICE IS A HARD ROAD AHEAD, ALWAYS HAVING ITS UPS AND DOWNS BUT IT ALL PAYS OFF WHEN YOUR HAPPY WITH YOUR RESULTS.”

In closing, everyone would like to reach a full circle in their lives, starting from the beginning and seeing what you have become over time. I hope that everyone can come around in their own full circle one day and they will be proud with what they see if they work hard and want it that badly.
